I purchased this product for my Nephew as a Christmas gift- imagine my shame and disappointment when after careful assembly and repeated attempts at application- we could not get EITHER of the two cars to go around the track even once! My Nephew had to be dragged away from the toy in tears, crying for just "One more try" while we boxed it up- this thing RUINED Christmas!

Basically, this cheaply made racing system has "wisklike wires" as contacts for the bottoms of the cars. Being loose wires, they move, and will work well until the car enters a turn. At that point they cross, short out, and the car stops moving.

THAT was on the "good car"- the other car had a magnet (designed to hold it onto the track) which was too strong or something- on that one we could get the wheels to spin but it wouldn't really move.

This toy was new, from an unopened box. Upon reflection, it was the ONLY one I found in the store which was from an unopened non-restocked box. THAT should have told me something.

Perhaps the "Carrera Brand" has other products which are of quality- but they'll never get the chance to prove it to me. This toy should NEVER have been made, and worse- Toys R Us should NEVER have stocked it!
