The image is kinda deceptive. The product, as shipped from MyAtomic, does not include the wheel/rim. Just the tire itself and the foam insert. The product description does clearly state that though.

As for the product itself, it's beefier then the stock tires from Traxxas, and does not fit on the standard wheel, so you need to get the ProLine Rims.

UPDATE: I've got the wheels for this now and have put it on my Slash. The set works great, and has noticeably better stability and grass performance than the stock tires/wheels. I've maintained wheelies across the lawn! The Slash still does suffer from it's bad body roll and you'll still get a one wheel spin on powered turns especially on pavement.

On the two wheel drive system you'll need the:
Epic 2.2 R Beadlock Alum Ring, Blk Wheel: Slash(2) for the rear.
- and -
Epic 2.2 FR Beadlock Alum Ring,Blk Wheel: Slash(2) for the front.

Notice in the description the R (Rear) and FR (Front). I did not visibly see a difference though, except for small letters on the inside rim indicating Front and Rear.

So, overall, what you can see is for a complete set, you'll pay twice as much as getting a pre-glued stock replacement. Also, these rims are incompatible with the 2.2/3.0" tires designed for the stock Slash rims. In fact, if you look at ProLines official site, you'll see that all of the Slash tires listed there are for the 2.2/3.0" rims, and that they have a new Split Six wheel that has the standard 2.2/3.0" rims. So, you may want to look into that.

So, what makes these tires worth it is that you can re-use the wheels, and replace the tires, and the tires themselves are more durable then the stock set (longer life). Since getting the VXL setup for my Slash, I rotated the stock tires on my Slash (swapped the fronts with the rears on the same side) and shortly after that, the rear tread on the stock rear tires were nearly bald. Now, I've run the ProLine Switch tires for a couple runs now, and haven't seen any significant wear on the tires yet, so that's good. However, I'll update on value as the tires begin to wear. If I see more tire life out of these Switch tires, then it can be a very good upgrade. You'll pay more up front, but get better stability, traction and value in the long run.

Some things to be aware of, the Switch/Epic combo has been noted to have trouble holding the tires on the wheels in certain setups. ProLine's site indicates, "Increasing the speed of your Slash can reduce the Bead-Loc capability of your Epic wheels." I haven't seen this problem yet. I'm only running 35 MPH (GPS measured) using the Velineon Brushless system with a 7.4v LiPo pack.

Also, the Epic wheels are only designed for the Switch tires. If you wanted to put on a different 2.2 tire, there's no guarantee it'll work well.

Product Description:

The first dedicated aftermarket, high-performance tire is here for the Slash. Introducing the Switch tire, designed to take your Slash to the next level of performance.

The Switch is a combination of off-road truck styling and handling to give your Slash the sideways advantage it needs to outmaneuver your competition. Aggressive big block lugs resist wear and allow your Slash to work on a variety of surfaces. Soft, yet long-lasting M2 compound allows you to throw your Slash into a corner, nail the throttle out of the corner, and do it all over again with confidence.

To resist unwanted sidewall flex, we've added beefy sidewall ribbing and included oversized firm foam to fill the innards of the tire to the max. This also helps the maintain tire uniformity under extreme acceleration and in high-traction situations.

Get ready to experience a whole new Slash with Pro-Line's Switch tire.

NOTE:
The Epic wheel (PRO2704 & PRO2705) is made specifically for use with Pro-LineSwitch tires only! The mounting bead is different for theBead-Loc system, than the standard 2.2" glued tires. Using other tireswith this wheel will cause the tire not to seat.
